Property Inspections

Whether you’re buying, building, or selling a home, it’s reassuring to have someone with experience objectively evaluate the condition of the various household systems and structures so you know what to expect. We love to help home buyers and sellers fully understand the condition of their homes so they can move ahead confidently.

We also provide inspections of commercial spaces to help business owners plan and budget as they prepare for new ventures. Past inspections have included apartment buildings, offices, medical/dental facilities, restaurants, retail spaces, studios, and even a train station!

After discussing your specific concerns, we conduct a thorough inspection that usually takes about two hours. Then, we’re happy to spend as much (or as little) time as you need to discuss any findings, their significance, and your potential next steps.

Finally, you will receive a concisely written and illustrated report (usually 25-30 pages, e-mailed as a PDF – See a sample report ) to use in setting up further evaluation by specialists (if needed), working with contractors to get estimates, and/or reaching a fair price on the property.

Here’s a broad overview of inspection areas:

  • Grounds & Exterior
  • Structure
  • Roof & Attic
  • Electrical
  • Plumbing
  • Heating, Ventilation, and Cooling (HVAC)
  • Interiors
  • Garage
  • Outbuildings (additional fee)
  • Radon Testing (additional fee)
  • Mold Testing (additional fee)
